This R8 is finished in Mythos Black Metallic paint and exterior details include LED head and tail lights, parking sensors, a rearview camera, carbon-fiber side blades, side skirts, rear wing, and rear diffuser.
The 20? upgraded wheels (245/30 front and 305/30 rear) come with brand new Michelin Pilot Sport tires and perfect wheels. Carbon-ceramic brakes feature silver multi-piston Audi-branded calipers.
The cockpit features upgraded leather, heated, perforated Recaro racing shell seats upholstered in black Nappa leather with contrasting stitching. Amenities include automatic climate control, carbon-fiber trim, navigation, and upgraded Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Audi’s configurable Virtual Cockpit display features a 12.3? LCD screen, and the digital odometer indicating ~19.5k miles – ~8k of those were added by me/the 2nd owner. I purchased the R8 (pre supercharger/RYFT exhaust) through Lamborghini of North Los Angeles in January 2020.
The 5.2-liter V10 is housed in a carbon-fiber engine compartment and has been fitted with an ESS tuning supercharger (R8 V10 TS-825 supercharger system (Whipple Gen.4) - ESS Tuning *. I haven’t dyno’d but Vivid did – 800hp (27% increase) and 660tq (35% increase) in the Arizona heat on 91 gas – (17) We Supercharged our Audi R8 V10! Insanely Fast Launch Control and Dyno Tested! 800+HP! - YouTube) and a RYFT Performance titanium exhaust – Ryft Titanium Race Exhaust Audi R8 | V10 | MK2 2016+ | RTI-AUDI-MK2-RE (vividracing.com). Adding on to the Vivid review – the R8 is very drivable (is like factory when you’re not on the gas) with the supercharger and exhaust – could be a daily if you chose to. Transmission is strong and easily handles the extra power. Power is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle and a Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Most recent service was completed in March 2024 by the mechanic who installed the supercharger and exhaust. External temperature gauge reads ~9 degrees F higher than normal (due to the supercharger placement). I rate the interior a 9.5 (no known damage) and exterior a 9 (minor paint chips, wheels have just been refurbished).
* Kit is 100% bolt-on with engineered bracket and beltdrive system to ensure a perfect fit/no modifications or cutting. Includes air-to-water intercooled 2.9L Whipple Twin Screw Supercharger putting out ~8 psi of highly efficient and instant boost. Twin Screw design utilized by Whipple has the highest efficiency of all superchargers which translates to more accessible power across all rpm levels, meaning instant power on tap from idle to redline. This unit can have the boost cranked to ~15 psi = room to upgrade. Manifold plate assembly is CNC’d from thick 6061-T6 aluminum to ensure an optimal fit and seal, mitigating any chance of warping under high heat and pressure. ESS over engineered their pulley set up maximum performance and reliability, machining them out of the same 6061-T6 aluminum and fitting them with ceramic bearings from SKF.
Supercharger installation: ~35 hours without engine removal. Professionally installed by a very experienced mechanic with extensive Lamborghini/Audi supercharger and turbo install experience. I will make introductions for any serious buyers.
